Branch informal lunch. Held on the first Tuesday of the month at Ferndown RBL club at noon.

BIRTHDAYS OF NOTE.
Many Happy returns go to John Talbot who will be 85 on the 21st August and also John Cusack who will be 70 on the 10th September.

ENTERTAINMENT.
Tonight our speaker is Jackie Smith with her husband giving us a talk on one of her American adventures.

The bench presented to the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe is at the moment in storage.

SKITTLES NIGHT IN JULY
Many thanks to everyone who helped with the skittles evening, A good time was had by all.Well done to the winners.

OCTOBER BINGO NIGHT.
On the Bingo night in October we will be having a fish and chip supper. John and Gwen will be collecting money for the food tonight and at the next meeting. Clare will hopefully be bringing a bingo machine in from where she works and calling the numbers for us again.The cost for the fish or chicken and chips will be £4.50. Remember No Booking No Food.


BRANCH SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR 2016
The cost this year is £15.If you have not paid yet please let the treasurer have your subs as soon as possible. Many thanks to everyone who has already paid and to those who have made a donation.


DOUBLE HILLS MEMORIAL IN PAULTON, SOMERSET.
This year the memorial service at Double Hills will be on the 4th September. The memorial service is to remember the 23 lives lost when their glider crashed on the 17th September 1944. The men who died were the first casualties of Operation Market Garden,the plan to land an allied airborne army behind enemy lines. 21 of the dead were members of the 9th Field Company (Airborne) Royal Engineers. The other 2 were from the Glider Pilot Regiment. 22 Engineer Regiment are involved this year and the SW Group AGM is planned to be held after the service. At the moment the time for the AGM to start is 18.00 hrs.

SEPTEMBER SPEAKER
This month we are having a talk about SSAFA so it should be quite interesting for most of us.
