NEWSLETTER - January 2016. Branch Meeting Wednesday 20th
PEGGY PIGGOTT
We
sadly report the death of PEGGY, who
passed away suddenly in Southampton Hospital
on
13th January 2016. She
was a loyal supporter of Husband Peter in his Branch Welfare work and also a
hard working leader of the ladies catering team. Peggy will be sorely missed by all of us -
her many REA friends. The funeral will
take place at Poole Crematorium on Monday
1st February at 11.30a.m.
Our
sincere sympathy goes to Peter and all family and friends.
JACK ( Horace) FRANCIS. .
It is also with sadness we announce the
passing of JACK on Tuesday 29th December 2015
at the age of 95, after a short illness.
The Funeral took place on Monday 11th January 10.30am at
Guard of Honour was formed. Very little is known about Jack's Military
Service.
He joined the Branch in July
2011.
Our message of sympathy goes to all
family and friends.
JANE
MASON
Recent information has been received
informing us that Jane, Wife of former Vice President
John Mason, passed away in April 2015.
WELFARE
.Bert
Martin has recently been in hospital, but is now recovering at home.
Richard Silsby has had a fall and is now recovering..
A GOLDEN WEDDING

Wedding Anniversary greetings go to John
and Gwen Griffiths who celebrated their Anniversary
on 8th January. Many Congratulations from all Branch Members.
ENTERTAINMENT
Tonight we welcome
"RETRO RITA ENTERTAINERS" This will be their first visit to
us. They are Vintage Vocalists.
Then at our
meeting in FEBRUARY WEDNESDAY 17th we will
welcome a speaker from RNLI.
BRANCH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
This will take
place at the Branch meeting on 18th MARCH. At this Meeting the election of officers will take place. If you have any business you wish to be
discussed please submit in writing to the Chairman by 1st March.
NOTICE ABOUT BRANCH SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR
2016.
These are now due, The cost this year will be £15.00. The reason for this rise is the
increasing cost of production and distribution of the monthly Newsletter and
Branch expenses. Full details will be available in the Statement of Accounts in
time for the Branch A.G.M in March.
Over the last
few years payments of Annual Subscriptions have been late in arrival so - Please
make payments as early as possible to John Cusack, Branch Treasurer. If paying
by Cheque please make payable to

We are pleased
to welcome Val Mantle to the
committee as Minute Secretary.

appreciated..
BRANCH COMMITTEE VACANCIES.
Newsletter. Mike Herbert reluctantly needs to relinquish his post as Newsletter Editor,
plus the postal and email monthly distribution.
Please consider this position.
Mike needs this post to be filled as soon as possible . It is hoped that with the help of his wife
Joan he be able to continue until our
A.G.M in March when he must stand
down. AT THE TIME OF PRINTING NO ONE HAS PUT THEIR NAME FORWARD. IF THIS
POST IS NOT FILLED, THE NEWSLETTER AS
WE KNOW IT WILL CEASE.
Branch Annual Lunch
As notified in
earlier Newsletters the 2016 Branch
Annual Lunch will be held at the Cumberland Hotel. East Cliff. Bournemouth Saturday
7th
May 12.30 for 13.00 hrs.
Richard Silsby has now agreed the menu with the Hotel
at a cost of £17.00 per head. Menu
and order form are attached to Newsletter.
Please return bookings to Richard
- with payment - no later than 1st
April. Wendy and Gwen will be
accepting bookings and money at the February and March meetings. Raffle prizes will be needed and gratefully
accepted.

WEST DISTRICT EVENTS 2016
.AGM. This will take place at WOs' and
Sgts' Mess' 22 Engineer Regiment, Swinton Barracks. Perham Down.

Time table: Arrive / Coffee 1030- 11.00hrs. A.G.M. 1130 Lunch 1300-1400hrs. Bar closes 1600hrs.This year the lunch format will be a carvery Cost £12.00p..

Bickers MBE RE will be attending the meeting. For booking, payment and full details

STANDARD BEARDERS RALLY. Takes
place Saturday 4th June.
BBQ. Sunday 31st July, to involve
Branches in the SAPPER 300 celebrations with serving Member of the Corps. All details from BRANCH SECRETARY
